:blobcorn: What’s the ExAlts League ? :blobcorn:

If you’re eager to explore various heroes and assess their competitive potential, the League is designed for you. It serves as our welcoming gateway into competitive Altered. Easily accessible online, with open registration at any time, and offering great flexibility with your game schedule. Much like the Celebration, we will host several seasons of the League, serving as qualifiers for a final tournament, which is set to take place a month before the release of Set 2.

:blobhero: Season structure :blobhero:

Each season begins at the start of the month and is divided into two phases.

  1. The League stage spans the first three weeks, during which competitors engage in open play, coordinating matches with fellow league participants.
  2. This is followed by a playoff stage in the final week of the month, where the top 8 players from the league face off to determine the season’s champion.

:1Boost: League point distribution :1Boost:

During the first three weeks, you will have the opportunity to play matches and earn points based on your performance. The first 9 matches against a new opponent will be your primary source of points. To promote deck diversity, we’ve implemented a system where the more unique heroes you win with, the greater the points you can accumulate. Throughout these 9 matches, you can earn points in the following ways:

  • Winning a match (1 point per win)
  • Winning with a unique hero (1 point for each unique hero victory, up to a maximum of 9 different heroes)
  • Completing all 9 matches (1 point)

Additionally, there’s a chance to earn an extra point by assisting fellow league members in completing their first 9 matches.

  • If you complete 12 or more matches in total, you will receive 1 extra point.
    • Note that match wins and unique hero wins will no longer contribute points after your first 9 matches.

Altogether, you can earn up to 20 points. How many will you achieve?

:sphere: League match format :sphere:

How you choose to play each match is entirely up to you and your opponent. If you decide on a best-of-one format, simply play the match and record the outcome. For best-of-three matches, we encourage you to agree on your own preferred format. Whether you wish to each bring three different decks and use a ban system, or simply play with one deck throughout the match, the choice is yours. We are flexible with how matches are conducted, as long as both you and your opponent agree on the rules and submit the results accordingly.

Please note that you may only face each league member once per season, so be sure to keep track of your opponents.

It’s worth mentioning that best-of-three matches offer more opportunities to score maximum points. If you lose the first game, you still have a second chance to earn a hero victory point in the following game, even if you ultimately lose the match in the third game. Moreover, if you win with two different heroes during your first best-of-three match, you would only need to win with 7 more unique heroes over the next 8 matches.

To find an opponent for your matches, simply tag @League player in the 💬︱league-lfg-and-talk channel and indicate that you are available to play, or share your upcoming availability.

✅ Submitting Match Results ✅

After completing a match, the winner is responsible for submitting a “Virtual Match Slip” via this Google form:

Match Slip Form

The form will request the Season number, the date of the match, whether it was a Bo1 or Bo3, the names of the winning and losing players, and the heroes that won and lost games. If the match was a best-of-three and went to a third game, please be sure to record the hero that the losing player won with.

🏆Live Scoreboard 🏆

For a real-time update on how you rank against your fellow league members, a public leaderboard is available and will automatically update with each match submission. You can find it here:

📄Playoff Format📄

After three weeks, a Top 8 Cut will be determined based on total points earned. In the case of tiebreakers, rankings will be decided by the following criteria: Game Win %, Match Win %, Hero Points, Matches Played, and Games Played.

  • Players will compete in a single-elimination Bo3 format, with initial seeding based on their league rankings.
  • All playoff matches will take place on ExAltered, with full access to all cards.
  • Matches will follow a conquest-style format with a ban phase: each player will present three heroes, and their opponent will have the opportunity to ban one. Players must then win with the remaining two heroes to claim victory in the match.
  • Any disconnection during a game will result in an automatic game loss.

🧱 Playoff Deck Construction Rules 🧱

  • The Top 8 players will be required to submit their three decklists prior to the start of the event.
  • Each decks must contain a minimum of 39 non-Hero cards plus exactly 1 Hero card.
  • All cards in your deck must be of the same faction as your Hero card.
  • You may have a maximum of 3 copies of a card with the same name, regardless of rarity.
  • You may have a maximum of 15 Rare cards in your deck.

🌐Platform🌐

All matches will take place on Exaltered. You can use any account you own on the platfom. Be careful to check your opponent discord name and not their Exalterd one when filling the virtual match slip.

:angry_taru~1: Misconduct :angry_taru~1:

In the unlikely event that you suspect your opponent has misreported a match or displayed any form of misconduct, please reach out to one of our League Admin.

It’s important to remember that the league is, above all, a friendly event with no major stakes. Our primary goal is to have fun, make new friends, and enjoy playing and discussing the game online
