Dear ExAlts and Altered players! It is with hearts full of joy that we share this summary of the Angers tournament, which took place on Sunday, October 6, 2024.
The atmosphere at this tournament was incredible. The excitement, the stress, the eagerness, and all the energy radiating from those bustling tables brought so much joy and a sense of wonder. Despite the stakes and desires of each participant, the people I met there were lovely, kind, and all so enthusiastic about playing and participating in the event. So, a huge thank you from the bottom of our hearts to everyone who took part in this first major Altered event!
Now, let’s dive into the main subject with the tournament stats and information, as well as the performances of the ExAlts team members.
Event Format
This tournament took place over a single day with the following format:
- 10 Swiss rounds in Best of 1 (BO1)
- A top cut of the best 16 players in BO1 (initially planned as BO3)
Each match lasted 30 minutes, starting at the go of the organizers.
Results and Lists of ExAlts Members
At this tournament, 30 members of the ExAlts were present, including 26 participants, with many great results! Special mentions to Maverick and Ilad, who were Head Judge and Judge during the competition, and to SuriPlay on the French commentary.

A Chance to Meet
There were about thirty ExAlts in Angers this weekend. Most came as participants in the tournament, but some were there as referees, others as commentators, and still others to join the side events!
This event was, of course, the perfect opportunity to finally meet in person and put faces to the usernames we’ve seen (very) regularly. We even had the chance to meet Skycrier, who came all the way from Serbia to visit the country and, in passing, play with us!
And what better way to gather than a Saturday evening at a restaurant, where we could all meet, chat, and relax?
Diving into the Strategy of Some ExAlts
Thank you for reading this light-hearted article, in which we haven’t yet delved into the players’ strategies. The idea was to share our feedback on this first major tournament and what came out of it. We all had a great weekend there, and I want to thank Ludotrotter for organizing this weekend. I hope we will have many more opportunities to gather, play, and meet other members of the Altered community!
In a few days, more technical articles and videos will be released to delve deeper into the lists and strategies. Thank you for reading!
You can already find a recap of Nahmaa’s list on the ExAlts YouTube channel here.
